Ability Ministry strive to enhance the lives of persons affected with disabilities by providing services for persons with developmental disabilities, including residence, job placement, opportunities for social interaction and spiritual growth.  They seek partnership with individuals, churches, and other organizations to meet the physical and spiritual needs of persons with disabilities.  They also work to enable others through training, resources, and encouragement to effectively minister. They also manage two residential facilities for adults with disabilities, one in Missouri and the other in Tennessee. 21st Century Dads Foundation is created with the mission of: “Improving the lives of children by raising awareness and resources for greater father involvement, and inspiring dads to be present; physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually.” The Special Fathers Network is a premiere dad to dad mentoring program for fathers raising children with special needs. Through their personalized matching process, new fathers with a special needs child are connected with another father (A Mentor Father) who has experienced a similar situation.

Mentor Fathers are matched as closely as possible based on the childs special need, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic group, and relationship to the child (i.e.father, stepfather, grandfather), providing the younger father with a special needs child, a chance to ask personal questions and receive support from a peer who is truly familiar with the situation.

SOAR is honored to partner with the Special Fathers Network and Doc Hunsley is a Mentor Father with the program. Doc will be featured on one of the upcoming podcasts.
